Repurposing Jewellery
Assessment Process
All jewellery submitted for repurposing by The Society must undergo an assessment by our designated workshop to determine the quality and suitability for repurposing. This includes verifying if the gemstones are free of cracks and if the metal is of 18K gold quality, as The Society only repurposes jewellery comprising precious gemstones and metals.
The initial handover does not guarantee acceptance for repurposing. The client is responsible for acknowledging the possibility of rejection if the item fails to meet our criteria for precious gemstones and metals.
Following a successful assessment, the workshop will officially accept the jewellery piece for repurposing, allowing the order process to commence. Should a piece be deemed unsuitable due to its composition, it will be rejected, and the client will be notified accordingly.
Order Process and Payment
After the piece of jewellery is assessed, a final quote will be provided.

Care
All diamond and gemstone jewellery should be treated preciously. Gold and platinum are soft metals and can be damaged by knocks and blows and should be considered delicate and fragile. We remind the customer to keep the jewellery in good condition, especially pieces worn on hands and wrists, which naturally will be bumped into surfaces. Use liquid and a soft brush to clean. Even though jewellery is made to be worn, a few things you should keep in mind on how to care for your jewellery so that it will stay in good condition for years to come.
First and foremost, be aware of how you wear your jewellery. If you’re constantly putting strain on it or wearing it in abrasive environments, it will inevitably break down faster. Be mindful of how you treat your jewellery and try to handle it with care.
Take off your jewellery before you perform any sports.
Gently clean your jewellery with a soft, clean cloth to maximize its shine.
Store your jewellery properly when you’re not wearing it. This means keeping it away from sunlight and heat, which can cause metals to tarnish, and avoiding moisture, which can cause gems to lose their lustre. Invest in a quality jewellery box or pouch to keep your pieces safe and sound.
Have your jewellery regularly cleaned and serviced
Keep it dry: Getting jewellery wet is always bad. It can lead to cracks, a lack of shine and water stains. Keep it away from chemicals: This might seem obvious, but you can find harmful chemicals in lotions, perfumes and hairspray. Keep your jewellery away from these products.
Put it on last: To avoid chemicals, put your jewellery on last and take it off first.
